30th Sunfish World Championship
Sarasota Bay
November 2000
Former YSP coach, Canadian Oskar Johanson, led the 104 boat regatta going into the last day by 10 points.

He couldn't lose unless he posted two finishes out of the top 10 on the last day.

He had not had a race worse than 3rd in the previous 6 races.

In the unlikely event that Oskar had that bad a day, the plucky Venezuelan, Eduardo Cordero would need back to back bullets to win.

That's exactly what happened as Eduardo cooly rolled to two first places while the first light air races of the regatta proved exasperating for the Canadian.
